This beautiful blue Jaguar F-Type 3.0 (375 BHP) made the visit to TDI-Tuning for a CRTD4 system complete with Bluetooth. We are always thrilled to welcome stunning cars such as this F-Type, fresh from the production line. The 3.0 Petrol Supercharged engine in this Jag produces a healthy 375 BHP, and it does make an incredible noise. Pops and bangs are readily available even at low revs when you back off the throttle. So this car looks fantastic and sounds excellent, wheres the catch? Our test driver and the owner of this F-Type both came to the same conclusion when driving this car, it isn't fast enough! The sound generated by the engine doesn't match up with the grunt you get when you floor it. Arguably, the point of this Jaguar is to cruise around at low speeds while looking fantastic and sounding great. But surely it should at least have the ability to have a little thrash here and there. At TDI-Tuning we look for ways to improve upon a fantastic starting point. This Jaguar served as a perfect benchmark for tuning. The engine has so much more to give, proven by the fact that Jaguar produces a 395 BHP variant as well!

 

Before we begin to delve in to the tune and indeed the TDI-Tuning box, we wanted to take a minute to marvel in the Jag's beauty. Everything is so clean and smooth with this car. The door handles gracefully peep out from the bodywork when it's unlocked. The vents emerge from the dashboard like a spaceship when the climate control is activated. These subtle things come together and create a wonderful environment. The interior is cosy, it feels light and airy inside the car and in the drivers seat. Before driving this car everything was as it should be, it looks sleek and sounds great! The 8-speed automatic gearbox goes through the gears efficiently without you noticing. The gearbox benefited from being in the sport setup, as it made the gear charges that little bit quicker. This model comes with three power outputs: 335, 375 and 395 BHP. The engine present in this one is the middle ground offered by Jaguar. We delve deeper into exactly how the engine functions, this enables us to hone the performance and perfect the tune.
