How many people can muster up emotion over a lump of metal? Can you?
We are talking about a car in this instance, not a lump of scrap. If you are reading this then there's a good chance you fall in to the category that LOVES cars. Do you hear exhaust notes in the distance and yearn to know what car it was? Or, a unique car is parked up and you need to stop to have a better look? The owner of this Land Rover Range Rover SVR was so passionate about it that it made choosing our car of the month for March the easiest choice of the year. We love to meet owners who are as passionate about motor vehicles as much as we are! It’s not about value, or the specification, or even the make/model. It’s about feeling excitement and fulfilment when you drive it. If you are someone who feels this way, then read on to find out why this customer feels so much enjoyment when stepping into this beast of a car. We promise it’s worth the read.
What’s powering the passion for the Range Rover SVR?
A 5.0 engine powers this Range Rover SVR producing 518 BHP and 625 NM. Does everyone agree when we say that’s a good amount of power to have as standard? It makes driving the SVR exciting, but is all this power why the owner loves it so much? In short, no. It’s definitely a contributing factor, but there is more than meets the eye. The extreme 5.0 engine is a well refined, insane machine. It’s highly respected in the tuning community as it welcomes more power. The collaboration of exquisite interior quality and insane performance stats make it a formidable vehicle. One that demands respect, and, a degree of caution. Now you know exactly what is up front in this SVR, it’s time to find out how it makes the owner feel.
Is it just nuts & bolts? We think it’s more than that.
Thousands of engine components. Along with loads of other parts and materials make up this Range Rover SVR. Here’s the thing, you will feel passionate about your vehicle if there is more to it than nuts & bolts. If behind all the engineering and power, there is an underlying theme or message. Memories! The building blocks of passion! The owner of this SVR didn’t speak about how much fuel passes through the combustion chamber, nor speak about how much it costs either! This 2-tonne lump of metal is used to transport the family at the weekend. To create memories with loved ones. This is exactly where the passion for a vehicle stems from. How many people named their first car? It’s the same thing! The emotional bond people have with their first car can sometimes go on for eternity! Every finite detail embedded in their memory. It does help that the starting point for the memories is a 5.0 tank, but, that’s not the point!
If the passions not for you: Let’s talk about the Range Rover SVR
The tagline on the Land Rover website rings true of what this car is all about. “The Range Rover Sport SVR, the world’s most capable performance SUV, combines incredible performance with an unforgettable soundtrack.” It’s hard to disagree with this. We would change the original statement to “One of the most capable performance SUV’s”. It’s top 3 without a shadow of a doubt. With regards to the soundtrack, yes, it couldn’t be construed as unforgettable. The noise generated from the 5.0 beast is a difficult one to beat. The deep roar felt within, mixed with the loud, but not too loud exhaust notes. It's phenomenal. The active exhaust system means you can cruise around the neighbourhood inconspicuously. When the time arises, them exhausts come alive in spectacular fashion. The chassis enables precision driving, even though you are sat in a heavy SUV! It doesn't struggle in the slightest in tight, twisty situations. Then you come to the insane levels of straight-line speed this machine is capable of. It will put most hot hatches and "Fast" saloon cars in their rightful place. 4WD, 21-inch alloy wheels, a 5.0 supercharged V8. If that's not a recipe for a great time we don't know what is!
With over 500 BHP as standard, why would you want more power?
As with most scenarios in life, there is always room for improvement. The question is, if you can improve something, should you? We think so. This insane SVR benefits from a tune in ways that can only be imagined. Unless you own one, then you can live it!
