Power was increased from 362 to 420 BHP
Torque was increased from 520 to 582 NM

This month we welcome the Mercedes GLE450 AMG. With a 3.0 straight 6 under the bonnet, helped out by a 48-volt electric motor, it's a beast! Electrified power is becoming more prevalent in modern cars, is this a good thing? Read on to find out more...

Looking to the future: Is it electric?

The hot topic within the automotive sector right now is all about electric vehicles. The current legislation states that after the year 2035, petrol and diesel combustion engines will be no more! When we say no more, we mean banned from sale for new vehicles. This includes hybrids. It also includes this Mercedes GLE450. But for now, cars like this GLE450, can continue to put a smile on your face! Electric vehicles seem to be a step in the right direction. If you have driven a hybrid vehicle, then, you will appreciate the instant torque delivery. It works especially well when coupled with a turbocharged petrol engine. The electric motor steps in as the turbocharger is spooling, then, it's turbo time! That is enough about the future, let's talk about the present! The owner of this Mercedes was very happy with the electric power boost, but wanted more from the engine. It needed a power boost of it's own. Being a 2019 vehicle, it needed a power boost that was not permanent. Something that is easy to remove in under an hour. A modification that is a glimpse into the future.

The powers waiting: Unlocking your engine

This Mercedes GLE450 AMG has 362 BHP and 520 NM as standard. It's no slouch. But the vehicle does weigh over 2 tonnes. This means even with the electric motor, it does feel heavy. Because it is! The owner of this one wanted to unlock the true power of the engine, without making permanent modifications. This calls for a future proof modification. The TDI-Tuning Box on this Mercedes connects to two boost sensors and the CAM sensor to optimise engine power. This increases the BHP by 59, and the NM by 64. The results on the road are staggering. It makes the car feel lighter, more agile. The best thing about this route of engine tuning, is that not a permanent modification. The TDI-Tuning Box is very easy to install, and it's just as easy to remove as well. This makes it the ideal modification for a new car that is still within it's warranty period.

Cutting edge technology: Mercedes and TDI-Tuning

Mercedes know a thing or two about cutting-edge technology. They brim vehicles with clever driving aids and other useful features. The TDI-Tuning Box is also at the cutting edge of tuning technology. With the Bluetooth functionality drive modes can be adjusted to determine the amount of power you desire. This means complete control over the engine power. For motorway driving you might want to drop it down into the economy modes. If you want to drive with a bit more exuberance, then put the TDI-Tuning Box in mode 7 and prepare to be blown away! The box can also disabled from the Bluetooth App, so if you want to go back to standard, you can at any time you want. The high-tech interior of the Mercedes mirrors the high-tech abilities of the TDI-Tuning Box. Both working in perfect harmony to improve the driving experience.
