This BMW M4 is a big deal. With the first M4 being such a raging success, the new one has big shoes to fill. What does everybody think of the new style M4? It's a massive change compared to the previous model. Delve into what else has changed with this BMW M4, read on to find out more...

NEW BMW M4 Performance and driving changes

This new BMW M4 is more expensive than the previous one. It starts from £76,055. But it does come with a lot more of everything. The new digital I-Drive system lets you take complete control of the car. Adjustments are available for the engine, chassis, steering, and braking. You can also adjust the level of traction control from 0-10. On top of all that, you can also adjust the ferocity of the gear changes and how loud your exhaust is! Best of all, it will rank your drifts. You heard it right, this new shape BMW M4 will decide how good at drifting you are. One area where more isn't considered better, is weight. The old BMW M4 weighed in at 1590Kg, the new one weighs 1730Kg. BMW say this is due to extra 'safety' and 'emissions' changes. Whatever is under the bonnet of this new M4 might negate some of the extra pounds this car has gained. It is the same 3.0 twin-turbo straight 6 engine. But, this new BMW M4 has 473 BHP as standard instead of 425 BHP (The BMW M4 Competition pack has 503 BHP as standard). It does have a little bit more power to allow for the extra 140Kg.  One interesting change for the new BMW M4. It no longer has a DCT (Dual clutch transmission) It relies on a torque converter. The improvement in torque converters mean this shouldn't be too much of a problem for this stunning car. BMW have stated that the traditional automatic gearbox has been implemented because it works better with the X-Drive system. That’s right, this BMW M4 will be available with X-Drive soon! BMW have clearly gone all out in terms of customisation for the new model. You can have it in over 50 paint colours, customise the driving characteristics, and much more! With all these options available, wouldn't it be nice to have the option for more power? Especially as the only model available for UK buyers is the competition pack.

More power from the brand-new BMW M4

Generating more engine power from this BMW M4 competition pack doesn't seem as if it's an achievable task. But it is. Many of our customers ask us: How are you getting more power from a car that's tuned by a company like BMW? A company that have had years and years’ worth of mechanical and technical knowledge. Surely, they have tuned it to it's greatest potential? They haven't. But not because they can't, because of emissions and marketing the vehicle. BMW offer the standard BMW M4 with 473 BHP. They also offer a competition variant that puts out 503 BHP. This is all down to engine tuning. The competition pack isn't finished at 503 BHP either, there is more power available. Much more! 96 BHP and 104 NM of torque are unlocked by using a TDI-Tuning Box. We have already tuned hundreds of the new shape BMW M4 competition packs, with happy customers all round. Our technical team were able to optimise two boost sensor readings, along with the CAM position sensor. Multiple sensor readings are being tuned and optimised for the best possible performance. The best thing about it? Once you remove the TDI-Tuning Box, the sensor readings stop being optimised, and the car is back to standard!
