Company founders and lifelong friends Graeme King and Steven Legon wanted, like many entrepreneurs, to take control of their futures and be involved daily in their shared passion, that of performance motor vehicles.
With a joint background in engineering and computing coupled with their interest in cars entering the emerging tuning solutions market seemed a natural choice and so began the seeds of what is now today TDI Tuning Ltd.
At the time, the tuning box system marketplace was flooded with poor quality tuning solutions and it was quickly decided that developing its own range of products was the best route for the company.
Following many months of research and development custom hardware was developed for PD & CR engine types, introducing for the first time into the UK market a high quality tuning solution that was UK designed and developed.
2006 - 2008
The company’s newly launched first offerings sold very well and soon garnered a reputation for performance and reliability thanks to their quality components.
Ebay played an important part in the brands success at this time and the company continues to sell older versions of its products on the site to this day, still maintaining an outstanding performance rating on the network.
Whilst effective, Tuning Box solutions to date had allowed for only a basic level of tuning engines but with the lowering cost of micro-computing components new and exciting product development was on the horizon.
Soon it would be possible to fully remap an engine’s performance, not just boost it, changing completely the delivery of power and torque across the gear ranges giving a superior tuning experience to older technology.
The CRTD2 launches! Common Rail engines had increasingly become the main diesel engine design which lead to product development being focussed in this area of the companies range.
This second version of the CRTD product increased power and torque whilst fully remapping the delivery of performance. This meant a smoother driving experience with greater levels of vehicle responsiveness more than ever before.
2011 - 2013
Building on the strength of the company’s flagship CRTD2 launch, the next phase in the company’s history began. Its reputation for quality products only continued to grow on forums and amongst friends as did it sales and share of the UK tuning market.
2013 saw the launch of its third version of the CRTD2 which it continues to sell to this day, with the newest version offering expanded vehicle support and TWIN channel mode, allowing for the additional remapping of turbo delivery, improving drive experience even further.
2013 - 2016
Building on the strength of the company’s flagship CRTD2 launch, the next phase in the company’s history began. Its reputation for quality products only continued to grow as did it sales and share of the UK tuning solutions market.
With growth in the UK came interest from across the world, most notably in Japan. Based on demand in the UK interest came from Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, South Africa, Korea, China, Japan and more.
