Overwrites ECU software
An ECU remap requires the physical overwriting of a vehicles ECU software in order to be able to release additional power and torque, safety features can also be overridden for special tuning which presents an associated risk.
No trace as it plugs in at the sensor level on the engine of your engine.
Complicated installation process
ECU remapping requires very specialist software and equipment. It can also require the physical removal of the vehicle’s ECU and more modern vehicles may require the ECU unit housing to be opened.
Even if an remap has been removed it can leave trace counts within it’s history which could tell someone the vehicle has been tampered with.
The connectors we use are the exact same match to what your engine currently has, ensuring complete ease to install.
An ECU Remap is a permanent physical change to the vehicle. It can be ‘undone’ by re-installing the original ECU software but the cost of doing this is often the same as having it remapped to start with, not to mention the trace count as above.
Fast, traceless removal is achieved by revsersing the install process.
One single map
A remap is a replacement of the original ECU software, essentially you get what you’re given. To alter this map or revert to factory standard means re-flashing the ECU again.
Vehicle specific maps
TDI Tuning devices are programmed with 7 pre-tested vehicle specific fuel programs emphasising either maximum power or economy. These can be switched between depending on the owner’s preference.
An ECU remap is a one off upgrade. When you wish to remove a remap or change your vehicle this will often result in additional charges making this method of tuning more expensive in many cases.
