Hot on the heels of the launch of our new flagship CRTD4 tuning box system, previously available only in Single and TWIN Channel options, we're proud to announce the introduction of TRIPLE Channel technology to the range. TRIPLE Channel technology is an exciting new innovation for our tuning systems that allows for an even greater level of power delivery control than previously possible, giving the smoothest possible driving experience and outstanding responsiveness.
TRIPLE Channel technology takes our systems to the next level by measuring CAM position (RPM) sensor data in addition to the FUEL and BOOST levels which provides our CRTD4 TRIPLE Channel systems with 3 separate streams of engine data to their microprocessor cores. This data is processed second-by-second and modified in accordance with our custom programmed map software to be sent on to the vehicle ECU, this then in turn increases engine power and torque output and redefines the performance profile of the vehicle.
TRIPLE CHANNEL TECHNOLOGY FOR TURBO DIESEL AND PETROL ENGINES
A TDI-Tuning CRTD4 Tuning Box System can be used on both diesel and petrol vehicles, with the correctly loaded software and vehicle harness, and our TRIPLE Channel technology is available for both types of engines. For our petrol range it's called 'MULTI-Channel + RPM' but uses the exact same principle of incorporating additional data from the CAM sensor in order to provide a smoother drive experience.
Installation for both systems is very similar. Diesel engines require our CRTD4 system to be connected via the supplied harness to 3 engine sensors with the first and second being the FUEL and BOOST sensors, as in TWIN Channel mode, and the third now being the CAM sensor, allowing additional engine RPM input for finer control over performance delivery.
Petrol engine system installation differs slightly to diesel as petrol systems use our 'MULTI-Channel' technology. With MULTI-Channel systems, the number of engine sensors from which sensor input is required differs engine to engine, yet regardless of the number of engine sensor connections vehicle power and torque output is increased as well as turbo delivery being remapped. With the addition of a third channel of data (MULTI-Channel + RPM) the delivery of this power and torque is refined even further to give the absolute best possible drive experience and the smoothest power delivery across the gear ranges.
INTERFACING WITH THE FUEL SENSOR FOR INCREASED PERFORMANCE
For diesel engines using our TRIPLE Channel system the first connection to be made is to the engine fuelling sensor (In Single Channel systems this is the only connection made). This allows our tuning box system to control the level of fuelling to the engine which in turn controls power and torque output. Unlike inferior competitor products our CRTD4 system doesn't simply 'over fuel' but redefines the entire fuel delivery system based on the fuel map software.
This fuel map software is not 'generic', like some competitors, as every one of our tuning systems is tailored to the specific power variant of the engine that it is intended to be used on. This provides the maximum possible gains, the smoothest power delivery and ensures total engine compatibility and safety.
INTERFACING WITH THE BOOST SENSOR FOR DECREASED TURBO LAG
The next step in installing a diesel TRIPLE Channel system and the first in installing a MULTI-Channel + RPM petrol system is the connecting of our product to the engine boost sensor although, as mentioned above, for petrol systems this stage may require connecting to one, two or three different sensors to achieve the same result.
Once receiving boost sensor data our CRTD4 system can begin to interpret and remap boost performance, reducing turbo lag whilst allowing for greatly improved early RPM acceleration. For petrol systems, the remapping of turbo also produces increases in power and torque, with our custom programmed software governing the whole process and ensuring maximum gains coupled with total engine compatibility.
INTERFACING WITH THE CAM POSITION SENSOR FOR EVEN SMOOTHER POWER INTEGRATION
The final step for both our diesel TRIPLE Channel and petrol Multi-Channel+RPM vehicles is the connection of our system via the custom engine harness to the CAM position sensor so the final third stream of data can be received and processed. The CAM sensor provides RPM data to our system allowing us to pinpoint power and torque delivery to specific rpm levels and ranges providing even greater overall control power delivery.
Whilst performance is increased and redefined in both Single and TWIN Channel / MULTI-Channel modes this third stream allows even greater control over the delivery of power and torque across the gear ranges. This ensures every vehicle we provide our tuning solution for is mapped for the smoothest possible drive experience, acceleration dead spots, upper RPM hesitation, low RPM power differentials, all gone with a TDI-Tuning CRTD4 TRIPLE Channel or MULTI-Channel + RPM tuning system.
