Originating from Luton in 1903 with their first vehicle the “6HP”, Vauxhall have grown to become the second most popular selling manufacturer in the UK for the last 2 decades. Owned by General Motors since 1925 they share multiple platforms and powerplants with GM subsidiaries Chevrolet, Opel and Holden. Vauxhall introduced its first diesel engine for passenger cars in the early 80s with the 1.6 diesel Cavalier and Astra.
